Midday Caffeinated Treat: Whipped Coffee

In today's near constant state of Groundhog Day (anyone else feeling this way), I've found myself more and more needing a midday caffeine boost. Years ago, that would have been cracking open an ice cold Diet Coke (TBH I still love one, just not as much) but lately I've been craving iced coffee. A little sweetness, that slightly bitterness of black coffee.

Enter, whipped coffee.

Whipped coffee is the latest in coffee trends and is genuinely a coffee shop treat you can make at home. It's three ingredients. Literally. Three. Ingredients.

Worth noting, you literally cannot mess this up.

  • 2 tablespoons hot water (I microwaved a coffee mug for 1 min, 45 seconds)
  • 2 tablespoons instant coffee
  • 2 tablespoons sugar

Once you've placed all three ingredients into a metal bowl, either use a hand mixer or a whisk and go to town! That's it. Mix it. I used a hand mixer and it took about 4-5 minutes. You'll see the coffee get lighter and fluffier, essentially like coffee whipped cream but denser. Once it's reached that fun, fluffy consistency: grab a chilled glass, add ice and milk (dairy or non-dairy, your choice) and pour on top. It's beautiful, and delicious (and best drank through a straw).

Did you try it? Let me know!
