Friday is one of my favorite days of the year, the LONGEST DAY! The first day of summer when I was growing up always felt like such an event. It’s the longest day of year AND the official start of the summer (even though we ALL know summer started in Charleston in May).
With summer officially being here, I thought I would bring you a summer cleaning refresh list. I shared a short list earlier this year, found here. (I also shared my thoughts on a home scent, which is useful during the cleaning process) This is my personal list I will be tackling this week, with a goal of all of it being done by the END of June! (Giving myself a little grace period, here!)
-Update outdoor lighting and security systems (a good time to refresh your ring batteries!)
-Deep clean your exhaust fans and registers
-Exterior maintenance: pressure wash, take care of any pest issues (I have GOT to get my wasp situation under control)
-Double check your home’s foundation
-Seal your driveway
-Do a tool audit: see what needs to go, and what needs to be replaced
-Clean your microwave (this one is something people often forget about!)
-Clean your garbage disposal (this is a monthly must for me)
-Check your gutters for debris
-Challenge yourself to organize one space in your home (I’m STILL working on the guest closet . . . it’s a process)
