Friday Faves: XXXVIII

Hi. It’s been a few weeks. Admittedly, it’s been a pretty rough past three weeks in my life. My best friend, and a pillar in my life, my Nunnie passed away two weeks ago. We’re doing okay, but I needed to take a step back from the majority of things in my life the past few weeks. I’m slowly coming back to a normal pace, but not quite the 1k miles per hour I’m known for going.

While grief can do many things, one thing it’s done for me has been a lack of sleep. And when I can’t sleep, I find myself shopping online. I went a little crazy online for a few days, but I’ve found some gems I’m excited to share with you all.

What I’ve Been Buying & Loving:
-This black dress, for an obvious reason, was a great comfy, cute and practical purchase. I love the sleeves so much. (I purchased this one at the beginning of October and I have to tell you, I’ve worn it an alarming amount of times)
-I think I’ve finally found black heels that aren’t too fancy or too work-ish and they’re on sale! Broke them in last night for dinner, and can confirm they’re great for a multi-block walk around downtown.
-While in Ohio, I found my old Birks from HIGH SCHOOL and gosh they’re cozy. I treated myself to a new pair the other night when I couldn’t sleep and I love this color.
-I found this collection of ornaments and I feel like I need them? Right?
-I feel like this is just a cute top, that I needed. And this jacket omg, the Chanel vibes. Plus, the prices.
-I late-night impulse purchased this jacket the other night, and while it’s a bit big, I think it’s a great throw on. So cute for the price!

What’s in my Cart:
I am leaning in HARD to the holidays early this season, it sparks joy and that’s what is working for me. Yes, my Christmas tree is up, but don’t worry the full decor is not up . . . yet.
-This garland is a true need. I just need to confirm how much of it I need!
-I’ve been eyeing these velvet pants for almost a month now. How much holiday apparel does one girl need? The limit does not exist.
-This sweater dress is so beyond cute and I love the color. Unsure about XS or S on this one, though.

What I’m Reading/Listening to:
This has not been the best few weeks for reading for me. I’m working my way through a handful of books right now and hope to take one or two of them off my list this weekend!
-I listened to Stanley Tucci’s latest two weeks ago, and I really needed his calm voice and just hours of food talk. It made me so eager for some time in the kitchen.
-We listened to a Malcolm Gladwell while driving back from Morgantown, and his voice is another soothing sound for me.
-I’m still on Intermezzo, but needed to pause for something brighter and wound up with two thrillers: Society of Lies and The Housemaid is Watching.

A few more weeks of the regular football season ahead of us (HOW), and a little birthday celebration this weekend gives me things to look forward to.
Have the best weekend.
xx
