Somehow, it’s already the last Sunday of July. I feel like this month took a minute and an entire year all at once. It’s probably because post-Europe vacation makes me happy and exhausted all at once? I feel rejuvenated from taking time away (I still worked on my trip), but also excited for a return to routine and then counting down until my next vacation (two weeks from today!).
All of this to say: happy Sunday. It’s a leisure-ish Sunday for me. Exercise, prep for the week, some sun (hopefully), some stitching. A dream.
Last week I split my time between Charleston and Southern Pines and I really felt like I had the best mix of city life and country life. SP is not necessarily country life, but it just feels like time slows down in a good way during the days there. Very relaxing.
The last week of the month always feels a bit like the gas is fully pressed down for the entire week. I have plans this week, but not too many, and I just know that the week will fill up before I know it. I head back to NC towards the end of next week before we head out of town for my birthday trip! I love a birthday (not new news to anyone who knows me).
I listened to a wholly underwhelming audiobook this week, and found myself asking why I finished it. I just . . . didn’t love the characters? I felt bad for most of them? It was almost too much girl drama for me. I started the new Lisa Jewell truly minutes after finishing that one. I have higher hopes for it!
My bedside/beach read is the new Ashley Winstead and I am LOVING it. I feel like I’m almost savoring it and not wanting to read it too quickly. It will be finished this week, though!
Last year while we were in Florence, I brought home some lovely mini bags and found a very very similar one online if anyone needs a pre-fall mini bag. THE COLOR. It’s almost exactly the bag I have from Italy. I was also gifted the coolest sports bra last week, and I’m excited to wear it today on a walk with friends! It’s the bra known for Taylor Swift’s posture correction, so I am very excited to try it out. Does anyone already own this?
I love a kitschy embroidery, and anthropologie hits the mark every time. This button down is great, as well. Speaking of, the new serving platter I got on sale is 10/10. No notes. I bought summery drink stirrers as well. Now I need to host a dinner!
I’m off for my walk! Have the best week!
xx
