Charleston Wine+Food Festival: A Love Letter

It’s officially my favorite week of March: Charleston Wine+Food Festival. Wednesday through Sunday, the city of Charleston is overrun with food and drink activities. It always marks the first real week of spring for me. I feel like Charleston finds a way to shine for the week (or maybe it’s the wine?!).

Tickets go on sale almost six months in advance, with some events selling out in literal seconds. It’s practically an Olympic sport for foodies and their wifi bandwidth. I make a detailed spreadsheet the day the schedule comes out, and then it’s all hands on deck on ticket release day. We’ve been lucky so far, and have only missed out on two events that were on our “must do” list in the last three years.

I must say, it’s not the cheapest weekend but I truly love it. The festival is such a great way to meet people in our local community, as well as visitors to our great city. It’s a great way to learn about new (to you) foods, wines, and different cultures. Not to mention, a great way to learn about small businesses, both local and from afar. In the past, we’ve done cooking classes and cocktail classes, as well as lectures and seminars on different wines from around the world. How cool is that to be able to do in our own backyard?!

Charleston Wine+Food is just another reason I’m thankful to live in Charleston. Remember, if you want to live here too, I can help with that!!

Do you attend wine+food? What events?

Here’s my list of what I’m anticipating, as well as what’s still available! Grab a ticket and join me!

My top events I’m attending:
Welton’s Spring Brunch: It’s no secret what a lover of Welton’s I am and I cannot wait for this event. They’re bringing in Raf’s from New York, which has been on my must-try list.
Melfi’s Wine Lunch: This is our second year in a row attending this event and this one has another New York spot collabing that I’ve been wanting to try, Ci Siamo.
Palmira Barbecue Signature Dinner: Yes, these are all three on the same day. Yes, I’m going to wear an elastic waistband. And yes, this new barbecue restaurant looks FAB. I can’t wait to try!
Sunday Culinary Village, Locals Day: This is my favorite event every year! It’s so fun to be able to see friends from all over Charleston all in one place!

Events with Tickets Still Available:
Looking for a last minute ticket?! Here’s a few that aren’t sold out!
Vern’s Signature Dinner
Cleat’s Cocktail Lunch
The Finale (I’ve been before, it’s so fun!)

What events are you hitting up this weekend?! LMK if you’re going to any fun ones!
