Happy Sunday!
It’s been a whirlwind of a month. Lots of good things, one small HVAC issue (not actually small, not actually cheap and during the HOTTEST week of the year). I’m coming off of lots and lots of birthday celebrations and my heart feels FULL today.
I’m currently writing, sipping and stitching on my porch in Morgantown. We’re two days from September and this is Week ONE of football season. I’m excited. I’m praying the Mountaineers win more than two games (legit nerves for Saturday), but I am ready for the season to start.
Where have I been this month, you may ask. Charleston, Southern Pines, Harbour Island, the Dunlin, now Morgantown. Add in work, mahjong, needlepoint and friend time in there and you’ve got the last 30 days of my life. I’m at our WV house until next Monday, and I’m here to tell you that this is my maintenance week. Business planning for the rest of the year, schedule out my fall social calendar and my marathon training calendar (15 weeks from yesterday!!) and some Poppy time.
Did I mention there’s a football game on Saturday?
As I write this, I’m reflecting on the gratitude I have for the past several months. June-August packed in more than some people do in two years. Omaha, London, Paris, Harbour Island, the Dunlin. I’m very fortunate.
And very, very grateful.
Let’s chat the F word . . . fall. I am well aware that it is not here YET but it’s coming. I couldn’t be more excited. The taste of cool air yesterday morning on my (PR!!) run felt glorious. I would love one more big run while in WV on this trip, let’s see how the leggies feel after a few days.
Fall. It will be here before we know it and there are a few(*) things I know I need and you may need as well:
-the perfect suede mule, in the dreamiest neutral
-an easy wide leg, light-washed denim (great with the mules) –now on sale!!
-a classic, French trench is HIGH on my list
-this particular classic, oversized jumper that I’m hoping restocks in my size
These are not a “fall” item, but the Loeffler sale has an extra 30% off and there are one pair of gold flats I will buy again and again. A true closet staple.
I’m off for a walk with my latest audiobook obsession. Three hours left!
